In photography and set styling, the smallest objects often do the heaviest lifting. A shape catches the light in a certain way. A texture adds softness. A subtle imperfection makes an image feel human. Props are not just things in the frame, they are quiet tools for atmosphere, storytelling, and cohesion.
Over the past years, we have built our work around that idea: creating visual worlds that feel calm, tactile, and intentional. Lately, something shifted behind the scenes. We were always searching for very specific props, and it took a lot of time to find the right items. So we decided to create our own product props to fulfil the needs we had.
A new addition to Studio Taupe
That is why we are excited to share a new addition to Studio Taupe: we now create and sell props.
This is a natural extension of what we already do. It is still about mood. Still about detail. Still about building a feeling, not just filling a space. The difference is that these pieces can now become part of your toolkit too, whether you are a photographer, stylist, set designer, content creator, or a brand building a visual language.
A small collection, made to order
Our current prop collection is available through our Etsy shop, and every item is produced on order. We chose this approach on purpose.
Made to order keeps the process calm and considered. It means we can focus on quality, finishing, and consistency, rather than rushing to keep a large inventory. It also allows the shop to stay flexible: we can refine shapes, update finishes, and keep experimenting without losing the character that makes each piece feel special.
If you have ever purchased props online, you know how easily expectation and reality can drift apart. Something can look good in a product photo, but feel off in real life, too shiny or too lightweight. Our aim is the opposite. We want pieces that feel tactile, that sit naturally in a scene, and that photograph with ease.
Custom props
Alongside the shop, we also offer custom prop-making.
Sometimes you do not need a prop. You need your prop: a specific size to match a product, a tone that fits your palette, a shape that supports the story you are telling. Maybe you have a moodboard full of references, but nothing you can actually buy. Maybe you are building a series and want recurring objects that make the imagery feel cohesive. Or maybe you want to create a signature look for your brand content, subtle, calm, and instantly recognizable.
Custom work can start in many ways:
A moodboard or reference images- A rough sketch or description
- Measurements (especially important for product photography)
- A timeline and intended use (studio shoot, event, display, shipping)
From there, we translate the idea into a tangible object. We think about proportions, surface, color, and how it will behave in the frame. The goal is always the same: a prop that supports the image without overpowering it.

We created this offering with real projects in mind, situations where you want the visual to feel elevated, but still quiet and natural. Our props are a fit for:

Shipping and availability
Because the pieces are made to order, you are not buying from a shelf, you are commissioning a small part of the process. That said, we keep it practical and fast.
We ship internationally, and orders are typically dispatched within 1 to 3 days after purchase. If you are ordering for a shoot with a fixed date, it is always a good idea to plan ahead (especially for international delivery), but we will do our best to keep things smooth and predictable. A website shop is coming
Right now, our props are available via Etsy. In the near future, we will also be selling through our own webshop. We are building that next step carefully so it fits the same calm, considered experience we aim for in our work.
